The building process for a new home in Florida can vary depending on the location, size of the home, and the type of construction desired. Once the designing, planning and permitting process is completed, the fun really begins.

Utilizing our team of expert designers, architects and engineers, we work with you every step of the way to create your dream.

With over 40 years of combined experience, we provide meticulous craftsmanship in building custom residential homes.

Whether it is one space or a whole home remodel, we have the experience and drive to fulfill your greatest expectations.

First, our team ensures that environmental protections are in place, which may involve silt fencing and tree barricades. Then we clear the land, grade the site, and install the foundation.

Once the foundation is complete, we begin framing or forming the exterior walls in masonry block or wood, based on your design.

Our experienced team of electricians, plumbers, and heating and air conditioning experts will install the electrical, plumbing, and cooling and heating (HVAC) systems. 

Our team installs all of the required water barriers, exterior windows and doors to protect your home. Once the windows and doors are in place, we install your exterior finish, such as siding or stucco based on your design.

Inside, our insulation team will install insulation in the walls and attic to improve energy efficiency and meet Florida Building Codes. Then, the drywall will be hung and finished.

After the drywall is complete, the carpentry team will install the flooring, tile, cabinets, doors, trim and fixtures.

We will do a walk through to create a final punch list and complete any final touches. Our goal is to ensure we have met both our standard of craftsmanship and your expectations fully.

Throughout the process, we schedule inspections to ensure  the construction meets local building codes and regulations. The length of time to build a new home in Florida can vary depending on the complexity of the project and the availability of materials and labor.

A longtime resident of Clearwater, FL, Shaun has deep roots in the community and a strong understanding of Florida’s unique construction challenges. His expertise spans residential and commercial projects, ensuring that every build meets the highest standards. Outside of work, Shaun still enjoys his own family's home improvement projects. He resides in Florida with his wife, Whitney, and their three children.

Jennifer Frazier plays a pivotal role in shaping Shelby Construction’s public presence. She leads the company’s marketing initiatives, community outreach, and volunteer efforts, ensuring strong connections with clients and the local community. Jennifer’s strategic approach and communication skills help drive brand awareness and client engagement.
